Classical Apologetics in the Modern World
This course presents a systematic and rational defense of the basic elements of the Christian Faith, including the existence of God, miracles, the deity of Christ, the inspiration of the Bible, and the mystery of the Catholic faith.
Your Instructor
Professor Douglas Beaumont has a Ph.D. in theology from North-West University and an M.A. in Christian apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary where he taught for ten years before being received into the Catholic Church. He is the author of Evangelical Exodus (Ignatius, 2016), The Message Behind the Movie (Moody, 2009), and has contributed to The Best Catholic Writing (Loyola, 2006), The Apologetics Study Bible for Students (B&H, 2010), and Got Questions? (Pleasant Word, 2009), as well as several articles in The Christian Apologetics Journal. Doug currently serves as adjunct faculty in the theology department at Belmont Abbey College (Charlotte, NC), and works as the Director of Religious Education for the Catholic Church in California where he lives with his wife and four children.
